Hello family, friends, and neighbors! Welcome to September and the beginning of fall here in the desert. It has already cooled off in many parts of the country while we continue to bake in the desert sun. Our maintenance and golf course teams have been deeply involved in several projects, and we trust you will be pleased with the upgrades in our community.
Our Task Forces are busy getting organized for their fall kickoff meetings, and I’d like to give you a few updates.
The Cottonwood Pool Task Force is chaired by board member Marty Neilsen. His team has been chosen, and they are gathering comments from residents on key items to be included in the remodel and upgrade process. We expect to see three recommendations from this group, which will be presented to our homeowners later in the year. The first option would be a remodel of the pool deck to include resurfacing and addressing the drainage issues currently identified. The second option would contain everything in option one plus some upgrades to the area, including cabanas, shade areas, and increased seating capacity, along with other ideas that come from the community. The third option would include all items in options one and two plus significant upgrades that might include a water feature, improved accessibility, and other features that would make this area the centerpiece of our community. This would be the showpiece of the community and the place you would love to bring visitors to experience our Association. We have hired a pool and landscape architect to assist in the development of these options. Much more information will follow as it becomes available. We are also looking at the funding options for this project, which include Capital Reserve Funds, Capital Improvement Funds, and Homeowner Assessments. As we develop this project, we will bring information to the community on a regular basis.
Our Technology Task Force is chaired by board member Tami Ronnfeldt. Her initial team has been chosen, and they are gathering information on our current tech hardware and software programs. They are working with the management team to identify each department’s needs for the next three to five years. Then they will prepare a series of recommendations for the board to consider as a part of the five-year planning process.
Our Reciprocal Agreement Task Force is chaired by board member Glenn Martinson. His initial team has been chosen. Their first meeting will be this month. We look forward to their recommendations as they assess our current and future needs as a part of the Sun Lakes community overall.
Please see The Flyer and In The Know for additional information as it becomes available. Enjoy the many amenities of our community. We look forward to seeing you at committee meetings and the monthly board meetings.
