‘Never Give Up,’ Says Craig Holstad, Member of Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge

Craig Holstad

Carol Ritter

Sixty-four years after playing his first bridge game, Craig Holstad has earned his Life Master in ACBL bridge. Before duplicate bridge, Craig played many card games. Then in high school, a friend encouraged him to try duplicate bridge, which led to his love for the game. He played his first game at the Minneapolis Elks Club in 1960 with Bill Bieber. He continued to play when he moved to Los Angeles, and then entered the nationals in LA. At that point, family and work consumed his time. In 2019 he moved to the desert and joined Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge Club. He earned his Life Master with Jim Libby last August at a Scottsdale tournament. He finally earned his last Gold points there. He will not stop with that award!

Congratulations Craig!
