Niners July golf results

Jim Wegman, Publicity

We are seeing some hot mornings, and an Arizona summer golf outing can be dangerous if you are not prepared for it. Remember to hydrate before you go out to the course and bring along a few extra containers of liquid. Skip the alcoholic beverages, or save them for after golf. Sport beverages with extra electrolytes or just plain cool water are the preferred drinks. Slap on that sunblock lotion and be sure to cover sensitive parts of the body that are not usually exposed. Ankles and feet are prime areas for serious sunburns. Sun-blocking shirts, shorts, hats, and light, removable sleeves are great for keeping the sun exposure low. The newest cool towels are great for a quick cool-off on the course. Prepare them with water, freeze or cool them beforehand, and stash them in the cooler section of your golf bag.

Despite the early morning heat, the Niners have been coming out to play in solid numbers, and that is good for the league and good for the golf operation. Some notable scores for July, despite the heat, are Bill Pender’s gross 36 on July 11, Bob Hiller’s 37 on July 18, and Bill Pender’s 33 on July 18. Those are some sizzling’ scores. Well done, guys.
