Many golfers are already receiving up-to-date information regarding golf events, sales, course closings and the progress of maintenance on our courses this year. It is informative and comes directly to your computer as The Golf Connection on the third Wednesday of each month. If you are not signed up, check it out on the IronOaks website. There is also information available on the Chelsea website. This is the site that allows members to sign up for tee times and other league play. Some members have advised me that they do not receive the Golf Connection, and I have offered to sign them up. If you are interested in having the column sent monthly to your computer, let me know and I will follow up with the website staff and have your email added to the Golf Connection list.

Rules Reminder: The Niners play under some league rules which have been modified (2015 and 2018) to accommodate our members and hopefully reduce playing time. These rules can be found on the Niners website. The best way to avoid confusion on the golf course is to print out a copy and carry it in your bag or golf cart for ready reference.

If a player’s ball in motion, after he has struck it on the putting surface, strikes another players ball at rest on the putting surface, it is a Rules violation; 19-5a. The player who struck the moving ball incurs a two (2) stroke penalty in Stroke Play. There is no penalty in Match Play.
