Can you believe it’s June already? It is officially summer and we are feeling the heat. In the Oakwood Artists’ League, we paint every Friday in the Arts and Crafts Room. There are artists who paint in oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, gouache, charcoal, pastel and ink. We paint on handmade papers, boards of all sorts, linen, muslin, cotton, paper, glass, and even objects!

Recently there was a guest artist, Penny Benjamin Peterson, who instructed a group of our artists in how to make an abstract painting. There were about a dozen people in attendance. They were able to create interesting pieces of work and had fun while doing so!

The air conditioning works nicely and while we paint, we can catch up on our visiting, too. We may even get inspiration from someone else that is there! Come on over!
