Happy New Year! Most can agree that the year 2014 went by quickly. They always do. For some, we realize many accomplishments from last year. We may also realize health changes or loss. And so it goes, time marches ever onward.

We recently had our holiday party and voting for league officers. The Board went uncontested and so our officers are Joyce Weary, president; Kay Blas, vice president; Kathy Neffenger, secretary; Diane Hitt is the treasurer. Other people of interest to our league include JoAnne Horner, social and show committee; Terri Pate, resource; Linda Shepherd, nominating committee; Susan Plouzek, publicity. We are still in need of an educational committee chair who would secure monthly classes for our members to enjoy.

At the Oakwood Artists’ League, we stay busy year round with painting every Friday at the Arts and Crafts Facility. The second Tuesday of every month is usually an instruction day for those who want to learn something new. In January, Diane Hitt will teach how to make batik. The class has been highly sought after in the past. Interested members should sign up as soon as possible and get a supply list.

Membership dues of $20 must be paid by January 31, 2015. The next membership meeting is January 9.
