The Oakwood Artists’ League (OAL) has been active in Oakwood Country Club in Sun Lakes since 2003 and currently has 40 members. Members meet every Friday all year in the Art and Framing Room in the Oakwood Arts and Crafts building. There they paint in several different mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, colored pencil, collage, pencil, doodling, scratchboard and alcohol ink.

In 2015, OAL members explored some fun workshops on the second Tuesday of the month. Topics covered this year included painted and stamped torn paper collage, abstract trees in acrylic, painting with a palette knife, painting ceramic tiles with alcohol inks, ‘faux Raku style’ painted gourds, mixed media and paper making to name a few.

In the spring we will be participating in an art exhibit at the Gammage Theater in Tempe. Stop in and see creativity happening on Fridays. For more information contact Joyce  at 480-802-9643.
