Oakwood Men’s Niners results

Jim Wegman, Publicity

Thanksgiving is a happy memory and Christmas and the New Year are right around the corner. So from the Board members, Committee Chairmen and Game Managers of the Niners, let me wish you and your family members a Merry Christmas, a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year and a happy Hanukkah. May the joy of the season light up your home and warm your heart.

Shutterfly photo site – Newly returned member Bruce McCorkle has created a member photo site for our league and has once again agreed to be our league photographer. Thank you, Bruce.

Welcome back luncheon – Our welcome back luncheon/general membership meeting were a success once again with Vice President Joe Sigillo overseeing the menu and the details for our 54 attendees. We met and welcomed our new members and winter golfers, announced the dates for our upcoming tournaments and held our 50/50 raffle. Bob Deken and Jim Theobald went home richer by $70. “Fast” Eddie Allen donated a number of very nice prizes for our 50/50 drawing. Thanks once again, Eddie. Dave Mork provided details of the Niners/Hamilton High Boys Golf Team fundraiser scheduled for March 17. Dave also reminded the attendees that the league logo is available at Big Stitch Embroidery, 1730 S. Elliot Rd, No. 8, Tempe, and can be stitched on shirts, yours or purchased, jackets and hats. If you have questions for Big Stitch give them a call at 480-345-6337. The original design is the creative work of our resident artist Bill Whitely. Our luncheon guest was IronOaks Course Superintendent Charles Keys who provided some details of the Lakes course rehabilitation project.

Membership – We have another new member, so give a big Niners welcome to Bob Balisky. Welcome to the league, Bob.
