Mary Scala

Hello, hello, hello to all the PALs out there. I am racking my brain trying to think of something cute, clever, or even smart to convince you to become a member of the Performing Arts League. Some folks think we do the performing – wrong! We don’t perform or ask you to perform. What we do is take a bus from Cottonwood to the various theaters to see the professionals act or sing or make music or make us laugh and have a good time.

How much does this cost? Well, since you asked it is $10 a single or $15 a couple. The season runs from June to June. Now as a member you can climb on the bus for only $20 a person roundtrip back to your car in Cottonwood.

Our theater season is about to start and here are the shows:

November 13 – Shear Madness at the Phoenix Theater

December 4 – Mary Poppins at the Phoenix Theater

January 22 – The 39 Steps at the Mesa Theater

March 6 – Anything Goes at the Phoenix Theater

March 20 – Carousel at the Mesa Theater

Our Special Events:

November 14 – Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Scottsdale Theater

December 13 – Spirit of Xmas at the Chandler Center (no transportation)

January 13 – Rachmaninoff at the Scottsdale Theater

February 14 – Soul of Flamenco at the Chandler Center (no transportation)

March 24 – Chopin and Grieg at the Scottsdale Theater

How is that for a season? Great I think and for a change the Board of Directors didn’t complain or threaten to send me to Siberia. We are still going to the Opera and the go to person for Opera is Vera who can be reached at  480-895-9679.
