You can create beautiful portraits – learn how – take a class with Susan!

Susan Plouzek is offering a colored pencil portrait workshop. Those who regularly paint in oil, acrylic, ink or watercolor are welcome to adapt their media. Students are encouraged to bring colored pencils and learn the versatility of the medium. An emphasis on children will be taught, but all age groups will be studied. (This is an excellent way to make portraits for Christmas)!

Bring colored pencils and drawing pads the first day of class. Susan recommends SOFTCORE Prismascolor Color soft colored pencils or Premier colored pencils. Both of these brands have thick soft-cored Derwent pencils which allow for good blending and have highly pigmented color. The drawing paper should be 9 inches by 12 inches and at least 80 lb. or 130gsm. Caution – do not purchase inexpensive supplies. You will be disappointed.

The portrait workshop runs from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from September 2 through November 25. Tuition is $50 each month for three months. Interested persons should register with Susan at 480-840-4920. Class size is limited and fills quickly.
