PVLGA host most successful fundraiser to date

Janet Baron

PVLGA and CW participants hosted their most successful ever annual fund raiser for the University of Arizona Cancer Center. Our Golf for Life Tournament was held on November 19. The amount of monies donated totaled $12,000, several thousand more than years past. Many of our players were themselves battling this dreadful disease. Their courage and valiant fight for survival is undeniable, greatly admired and supported by the generous donations toward the research and treatment of cancer statewide.

Our Chairman Carolyn Tagatz and her diligently organized committee and those who donated and participated were responsible for our greatest successful money raiser ever. Our Men’s Club and their guests were greatly responsible for our success. With sincere thanks we recognize our corporate sponsors for their generous donations.

The winning team of the day was the team of Sharon Claude, Pat Merna, Jerry Jordan and Wanda Wiggins. There was a three-way tie for second place. The weather cooperated with bearable temperatures in the 70’s. The coffee and treats proceeding and luncheon following added to the enjoyment of the day.

We thank you again for your generous donations making us extremely proud to present a check in this amount to the University of Arizona Cancer Chairman. Last but not least we thank Greg, his staff and Pro Shop for their help and donations.
