July was another warm one. We had another great month of golf. On July 11 we played a 3-2-1 format where the number of net scores on the team goes from one low net up to three low nets on the team and back again. The winning team, with a net score of 74, was John Mitchell, Tom Jeub, Vaughn Torgusen and Marcell Grossmann.

On July 18 we played a Stableford format, where the high score wins. The winning team with a 94 was Gerald Brock, Rich Featherstone, Bob Trusal and Jeff Martin. On the 21st, we played our annual Criers’ Tournament, flighted, where each player gets to change three of their worst scores to pars. The winners were 1st Flight with a net 54: James Granzow; the 2nd Flight, with a net 45, Jeff Martin.

On August 1 we played a team Scramble format. The winning team, with a net 35-1/4, was Don Hicks, Jeff Martin and Tony Huffman. I want to be on Jeff’s team.

On a sadder note, Richard Adamson passed away on July 25 and Jack Hansen, our 1996 past President who had been living with his children in Maine for the last four years, passed away. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go to their families.

Our September calendar of events begins on the 5th when we play a Stableford Individual Net flighted format. On the 12th, we play a Select-A-Drive, Two Best Balls Net format, followed by lunch and meeting. The 19th, we play a Three Best Balls Net format and on the 26th, we play a One Gross + two Net Best Ball format. This is an Ace of Aces qualifier.
