Reiki as community

Lois Valleau

A good friend of the Reiki Circle moved with her husband to Colorado last year. We certainly did miss her presence on Tuesday mornings. Then (happy days!) we heard she was returning for a vacation to Sun Lakes. We arranged to have a potluck so many could visit with her, and she shared Reiki at the Circle twice. This helped to remind us of the importance of community. We laughed and joked and told Reiki stories, too. All too soon, her visit was over, but she assured us that they would again be back next year.

Our Reiki Circle began in 1995 as a means to introduce people to the energy of Reiki. Some people choose to get trained in giving Reiki, and they use the circle to practice their skills. Some people get trained and come regularly to the Circle, and others get trained and have a different direction for their life. Then we have some who have been coming to the Reiki Circle for some time and choose not to get the training. The Circle is there for whatever your need. Here’s what we do at the Circle:

1) Hugs first!

2) Announcements

3) Place names of friends and family in circle

4) Share Reiki wins! (How you have used Reiki to benefit yourself or others)

5) Read Angel cards

6) Participate in a guided meditation

7) Set up Reiki tables and share Reiki

Our intention is that everyone there receives Reiki. Often, we go out to lunch which is open to all. We’re there from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays but stay as long as you can. A love offering basket helps us to share with our community.

If you are interested in Reiki training, you may call Lois Valleau at 480-883-6699 or Rina Cupples at 480-883-7747 to inquire about classes. Many blessings to you!
