Risen Savior names Rev. Mark Hoffmann new Associate Pastor of Congregational Care

Rev. Ron Burcham, Senior Pastor, Risen Savior Lutheran Church has announced the acceptance of a Divine Call by Rev. Mark Hoffmann to fill the position of Associate Pastor, Congregational Care. Pastor Burcham commented that “Pastor Mark is an enthusiastic, high energy pastor who was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona where he worshiped at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. During his years as a young adult, he served as an Elder and President of St. Luke’s congregation.”

Pastor Hoffmann’s academic credentials include a BS in Business Management from ASU and a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. His professional experience features almost eight years hands-on experience as the sole Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Blythe, California where he was credited with revitalizing and leading his church to double-digit growth. In 2012, Pastor Hoffmann returned to Arizona to serve east Valley Lutheran churches as a preacher and congregational care specialist.

His extensive congregational care experience includes multitudes of home and hospital visits, valued life and spiritual counseling, in-depth grief care, management of recovery and support groups, and five years concurrently serving as the Chaplin to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, where he provided counsel to officers and employees dealing with a wide-range of momentous life issues.

In announcing Rev. Hoffmann’s appointment, Pastor Burcham stated, “Risen Savior’s continued growth has necessitated the addition of a dedicated care professional to provide full-time guidance and support to the members of our congregation. Pastor Mark’s extensive experience and wisdom fit our needs like a glove. He is an excellent addition to the Risen Savior ministry team.”

Pastor Hoffman, his wife, Lori, and their two children reside in Queen Creek.
