January Rotarian of the Month Dwight Snyder

Dr. Dwight L. Snyder of Palo Verde was named Rotarian of the Month for January by his peers at the Sun Lakes Rotary Club. Dwight joined the club in 2002 and was president in 2007–2008. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, RYLA Chair and very active in the Rotary International Foundation, both as a donor, contributor and leader in our Foundation Committee. Now retired, he was a family physician. Before that, he was an officer in the United States Air Force, flying fighters including F-86 Sabrejets and the F-100. Dwight was born on a farm in Nebraska. When the Korean Conflict came along, he joined the Air Force, serving as a flight instructor at Williams Air Force Base and then Operations Officer at a Strike Force in France. After leaving the military, he went to med school at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. As a physician, he practiced in family medicine, but ultimately retired because it interfered too much with golf. Dwight and his wife Gloria have three children and eight grandchildren.
