Scandinavian Club officers were present at recent open houses hosted in the clubhouses of Sun Lakes communities to extend an invitation of membership to neighbors and friends who are interested in or of Scandinavian heritage. The most decorative and inspiring table was filled with flags and memorabilia from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Finland.

The Scandinavian Club serves the southeast valley and was one of the first clubs to organize and meet in Sun Lakes. Today, more than 200 members share in the camaraderie.

Friendship, good food and fun describe our fabulous club. The first meeting will be on November 19 in the Sun Lakes dining hall. Make your reservations with Carol Jacobsen, club treasurer, by calling 480-279-6690 or emailing [email protected]. Dues are $20, and each dinner is $15.

We start with socializing at 5:00 p.m. and enjoying a buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m. The program follows. Everyone goes home full, happy and glad to be in the Scandinavian Club!
