On August 11 the CLGA event was the Orange Ball team event. In Orange Ball, golfers play in groups. Of the golf balls the team members are playing, one of them is designated orange. That orange ball rotates among the team members, changing after each hole. For example, on the first hole Player A hits the orange ball; on the second hole, Player B plays the orange ball, and so on, rotating throughout the round. At the completion of each hole, the scores of two team members are added together to create one team score. One of those scores must be from the player who used the orange ball. The other score is the low score among the other two team members. Results from the tournament are as follows: First place team scoring 138 were Nancy Gahn, Gloria Combs and Julie Curran, second place team scoring 142 were Donna Purcell and Janet Quade, third place team scoring 143 were Patty Assante, Sandy Johnson and Ginger Henry.

On August 18 the CLGA event was a Nassau event which is like three tournaments in one. Summer is beginning to fade away a little and soon we will have all our winter friends heading back to soak in some of our great upcoming weather. However, we will still have some warmer days so drink plenty of H2O before and during play to stay hydrated. See you on the course and stay cool!
