Saturday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. – Awesome Occupations! Meet a Firefighter!***

Ever wonder about the excitement and danger that goes into being a firefighter? What kind of training does a firefighter have to prepare for this vital job? Join us as our Awesome Occupations series continues with a firefighting crew from the Sun Lakes Fire Department. As a bonus, kids can explore a real fire truck! Geared for ages five through 12, but all are welcome with caregiver.

Tuesday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. – Storytime for Kids

A fun-filled 30-minute program with stories and a take away coloring page. A new theme each month! Stories are geared toward ages three and up, but all are welcome with their caregiver.

Thursday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. – PHXART Presents – A Civic Masterwork: The National Mall***

Be inspired by great art by joining us for a lecture series presented by Phoenix Art Museum docents. In September join us for a lecture entitled “A Civic Masterwork: The National Mall, Washington, DC.” Docent Beth Goodwin will describe how visionaries created an iconic landscape unlike any other in the world.

Monday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. – It’s a Mystery to Me – Storytime for Grownups

Do you love “whodunits?” Join us for a grownup storytime featuring mystery short stories. Feel free to bring a lunch or snack and enjoy being read to!

Thursday, September 22 at 1:00 p.m. – Adjusting to Life with Aging Parents***

Are you faced with the challenge of caring for aging parents, grandparents, or in-laws while juggling your own family and job responsibilities? Do you know where to turn for support and resources? Elaine Poker-Yount, Community Liaison with Visiting Angels of the East Valley, will share information on this topic and help you create realistic goals and feel empowered to make decisions.

Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. – Crafternoon: Make a Clothespin Bee and Butterfly

Stay Cool and Create! Stop by the Library and make your own paper clothespin bee and butterfly and then write your own story about nature. Geared for ages three to six, but all are welcome with caregiver. Registration opens September 12 and is limited to 20 participants.

***On the day of the program, please come by the Library customer service desk for a free ticket, limit two per person. Please park in the church parking lot next to the Library.
