We start the new year (do you believe 2020?) with a program by Karen Massey of SW Denim Designs & More at our meeting on Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club. Karen is a retired RN living in Casa Grande who got bored after retirement and ventured into the world of designing. Karen went to a Penny Sturges trunk show, and after showing one of her designs, Penny became her mentor. Currently, many of Karen’s designs are in the Phoenix quilt stores.
Our Sew-N-Sews elves have been busy. Dolly Dressers and More packaged 66 Christmas bags for delivery to A New Leaf and My Sister’s Place, exceeding our goal of 50! Pads4Paws has over 300 pet beds ready for the StandDown, and our Walker Bag group delivered 90 walker bags to the Veterans Hospital.
Our members are a group of creative, generous people sharing our love of anything sewing related, beading, quilting, or any other craft using needle and thread. We have lots of interest groups and classes, and you can choose what you want to participate in. It is a great way to meet others. Come join us as a guest for a meeting or two.
Membership is $25 for the first year and includes a name badge. When you wear your name badge to the meeting, you are eligible to enter our door prize drawings. Current members, it is renewal time, so if you haven’t already done so, please renew with your check for $15. If you have any questions, please contact our co-president Cathy Climp at 303-356-9778 or via email at [email protected].
