Did you attend the January meeting of the Sew-N-Sews? Our speaker at that meeting was from one of our SIGs (Special Interest Groups), the Dolly Dressers. We learned all about what they do, where the dolls come from, how they are prepared and, finally, where they go after their “beauty makeover.” What an interesting and dedicated group of ladies!
And we have other SIGs. There is a very active beading SIG and, of course, our Pads for Paws. We have a machine embroidery SIG and also a needlework SIG.
Be sure to check out the Sew-N-Sews. Our February 14 meeting will feature Jim Garrison, an artist, who will discuss color: Variations of color schemes, properties of color, color groupings and color dominance. This should be an interesting presentation since we often take color for granted. We have our favorite color and probably one or two we prefer not to use or wear. Expect to learn more about color than you ever thought to ask!
The Sew-N-Sews meet monthly on the second Wednesday, September through May, in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 N. Sun Lakes Blvd., Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Our meetings start at 1:00 p.m. and are open to guests. Sign in as a guest and you may leave as a member. Although the meeting starts at 1:00 p.m., you may want to come earlier and see what classes are available to members and peruse our stash table. We have a stash table at all meetings, and you never know what you’ll find there!
Hope to see you February 14.
