SLCT honors long-time members

Eighty-four members made the Sun Lakes Community Theatre Christmas party the best ever! Held at Palo Verde, with festive decorations made of local pinecones by Jo Birlin, the food and service were top notch.

Something new this year was entertainment by T. A. Burrows, a professional singer, D.J. and celebrity impersonator.

This festive evening followed a more somber November meeting during which long-time members of SLCT were honored. Members who had belonged to SLCT for 15 years or longer were Veda Baack, Emmett Baack, Annette Berger, Lou Berger, Barbie Bergerson, Linda Caton, Merrie Crawford, John Crawford, Wes Davis, Bev Garrett, Sandy Ilsen, Bud Jenssen, Kathi Jenssen, Penny Peterson, Ron Peterson, Jeanne Schwan, Diean Siems, Jo Birlin, Grace Norris-Gil, Gloria Kelinson and Joyce Recupido. Each member was presented a certificate and a rose.

Phyllis Novy, SLCT board member, honored Barb Hazlett who had recently passed. Members shared memories of Hazlett and her many accomplishments both in local and professional theater.

Sun Lakes Community Theatre meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the San Tan Ballroom in Cottonwood Country Club. Anyone interested in theater is welcome to attend.
