A fun-filled afternoon on December 18 began with much chatter and catching up after the Thanksgiving holiday. The laughter of delight began with our annual Christmas Ornament Theft round. All of the ornaments were made from gourds by our members and colored in the most fantastic ways, some adorned with various trims. In turns, an ornament was chosen by a member, but could be traded by a subsequent artist much to the first members’ dismay – similar to musical chairs. The third person to steal an ornament was the final owner. Lots of fun.
On December 4 Sue Brogdon of Tucson taught a small class for Contemporary Canteen Gourds at Shirley Nesbitt’s home. Our hats are off to Shirley and Sue for moving the class from the patio into the garage to keep us dry on a very rainy morning.
Our January meeting will be held on January 15 in the Arts and Crafts Room at Sun Lakes Country Club from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
