Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming. What a great time for a girlfriend get together. How about having brunch with your favorite friends? Invite them to join you on Thursday, April 12 for Women’s Connection Brunch in the Kingston Ballroom of Oakwood Clubhouse.

Wanda Hansen from Peoria, Illinois will be our inspirational speaker with a talk titled “From Riches to Rags to Peace and Prosperity.” She speaks with humor about life as a dietitian and then as a top fashion model in South Africa. Wanda was born in South Africa and lived there for years until her family (husband, herself and two sons) immigrated to the United States in 1977. They ended up becoming beekeepers and eventually owning and operating five gourmet French bakeries and cafes in the Peoria, Illinois area. The family still visits South Africa every year January through March. Wanda is involved in different women’s groups and does a lot of speaking and leads various classes. She and her husband enjoy bicycling and fitness.
