Michigan

Time to start planning for the 2017 state of Michigan Party. The date has not been set; however, targeting late February or early March. This annual party is for all Sun Lakers who once lived in Michigan and want to enjoy a great social event. We need help to organize, advertise and sell tickets. If you are interested in helping to make this a great event and have not already volunteered please contact Pearl at 480-305-0286. Nebraska – February 25

Hey, fellow Nebraskans and friends: save this date – Saturday, February 25 for the annual Nebraska State Dinner set for the San Tan Ballroom in the Cottonwood Country Club. Your planning committee is busy completing plans for the menu, entertainment, and other activities to make this another successful Nebraska event.

North Dakota – South Dakota

The North Dakota/South Dakota annual gathering will be held Saturday evening, February 25, 2017 in the Saguaro Room at Cottonwood Clubhouse. Social hour begins at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. This is a great time to visit with old friends, meet new friends and enjoy great food.

The cost will be $20 per person and reservations will be required. For information contact Ruth Pedersen at 480-802-2145.

Washington – March 12

Last year 230 people had a great time at the first annual Washington Patio Party at Palo Verde. Now we’re planning the next one for March 12, 2017. Once again it will be a barbecue from 4:00-7:00 p.m. featuring hamburgers, with all the trimmings, grilled chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and dessert. There will be a cash bar, a raffle, and we’ll be giving away prizes like Washington wine and gift cards from companies originating in Washington including Starbucks, Nordstrom, Costco, Jersey Mike’s and Amazon.com. Maybe the best part is that it will still be only $15 per person. We now have a database of everyone from Washington whose email address we know. There are 185. Most of them were at the party last year. Our intention is to send your invitation by email instead of snail mail. That will be in mid-January.
