The Sun Lakes Democratic Club’s March meeting will be on Monday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 Sun Lakes Boulevard, Sun Lakes. The speakers will be Dr. Ed Gogek and LD 17 Democratic candidates.

Our local Legislative District 17 candidates Jennifer Pawlik (for Arizona House) and Steve Weichert (for Arizona Senate) will give updates on the progress of their campaigns. Doctor Ed Gogek and others will speak about the marijuana propositions which may be on the ballot this fall.

At all club meetings, non-perishable food items are collected for the Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank. Collections take place on meeting nights in the west parking lot from 6:30-7:00 p.m. There is also a collection box at the north entrance of the Sun Lakes Sunset Grill lobby. In 2014 the total amount collected was 1,880 pounds of food and $170. In 2015 the total was 2,310.5 lbs. of food and $686. The amount collected in January of 2016 shows we are off to a good start with 354 lbs. of food and $30. Thank you and congratulations Sun Lakes Democrats for your continuing generosity!
