On February 20, Master Gardener Lee Ann Aronson will present “Gardening for Seniors” at the monthly meeting. Using special gardening techniques for seniors, Lee Ann will discuss how to use containers and raised beds to create an “Instant Garden.” These techniques mean little lifting, no weeding and no tilling; it’s easy on the back and knees. You will be introduced to the idea of “Slow Gardening.” And in the “What to Grow” section, you’ll learn about plants to grow to help seniors’ special needs for hearing, vision and other health concerns.
Sun Lakes Garden Club meets at 9:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. The meeting site is Sun Lakes Chapel Center, 9230 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. (located across the street from the Sun Lakes Country Club and next to the Sun Lakes Chapel). Visitors are welcome. If you want more information or are interested in becoming a member of the Sun Lakes Garden Club, please contact Starla Kramer at 480-540-8080 or visit our website at sunlakesgardenclub.org.
