Pauline Lee, Publicity

The Sun Lakes Garden Club invited Fred Giese to their January meeting. Fred demonstrated how to take pictures with our “point and shoot” cameras to achieve unusual and beautiful results of our gardens. In February the members learned how to grow tomatoes in Arizona from Lee Ann Aronson, a University of Arizona Master Gardener, during their regular meeting. To be successful in getting tomatoes in our hot and dry climate, a gardener needs to learn the proper planting time and types of tomato variety to plant. On March 6 the members will charter a bus to visit the Desert Botanic Garden to enjoy the wild flowers that will be blooming and to learn about the amazing variety of desert plants collected from all over the world.

Anyone interested in how and what to grow in our desert is invited to attend as a guest. The club meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel House in Sun Lakes Country Club. The club has been in existence since 1999.
