The Sun Lakes Garden Club learned about growing rare fruits here in the East Valley at their July meeting. Doug Jones, President of the Arizona Rare Fruit Growers Association, shared some of the fruits he grows with us, and has invited members to visit his garden when the weather cools a bit. His presentation was fascinating.

Our September 20 meeting will feature Neal Tamber, a Master Gardener who lives in Ironwood, talking about “Six Things People New to Gardening in Sun Lakes Should Know.” We welcome interested residents to join us for this presentation. The Sun Lakes Garden Club meets every month on the third Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel Center next door to the Sun Lakes Chapel in Sun Lakes Country Club. The address is 4202 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. For more information call Diane Beatty at 480-895-3687 or visit our website at sunlakesgardenclub.com.
