The Sun Lakes Oasis Bocce League is getting ready for 2016-2017. Since Ellen does the scheduling for the league, it doesn’t get much easier and fun than that.

If you live in Sun Lakes Country Club (Sun Lakes HOA 1), you may telephone Ellen between October 1-14 to select a playing slot. If you live in a different HOA, your registration period will be October 17-22. Those players who will play only the winter season may register December 26-30. Contact Ellen Williams by telephone at 480-512-2405. We will also have bocce registration days at Oasis Park (in person) on October 25-26 from 10:00 a.m.-noon.

Matches will begin on November 2-4 as we will play on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday mornings for a one hour match. Your games will begin at 9:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday or Thursday. The Friday games will be at 9:00 a.m. or 10:15 a.m. only. We will play two sessions of nine weeks in 2016-2017. We will continue to have 65 minute games with a 10 minute break between groups. If you register for a session but are not here when it starts, you will need to arrange for your substitutes in advance so take your phone list to your summer residence.

Bocce registration days at Oasis Park (in person) on October 25-26 from 10:00 a.m.-noon. We will have some instructional days if you have not played so you can learn the game and rules on October 25-26 between 10:00 a.m.-noon. If you played last year and would like to volunteer to teach others please call Ellen at 480-512-2405.

Ellen will also collect everyone’s registration fees on October 25-26. If you have pre-registered by telephone please come to Oasis Park on October 25-26 to pay. This year, you will need to pay $10 for one season or $15 for both seasons. We will have a separate and new registration and scheduling in December for the residents that will want to play in 2017. The second session will begin on January 12-14.
