The United Methodist Women of the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church will hold a Women’s Retreat from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on February 25, 2017. The event will take place at Lindsay Hall at the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church located at 9248 East Riggs Road. The cost is $5.00. Tickets may be bought at the church office until February 20, 2017.

Reverend Janessa Chastain, the speaker, will discuss Storytelling for the Revolution: how can our stories help transform the world?

Rev. Janessa Chastain is a pastor at Grace UMC in Mesa, Arizona. She moved to the valley from Tucson, where she served as an associate pastor. Before her move to Arizona, Janessa lived in New Jersey while earning her Masters of Divinity from Drew Theological School. During her time in seminary, she served as the student body president, worked with United Methodist Women at the Church Center for the United Nations, spent a summer interning in Memphis, Tennessee, and traveled through southern India. Janessa has a passion for community outreach, justice ministries and creating meaningful  worship experiences.
