The Crystal Card Project announces sales in September

Volunteers were busy over the summer making thousands of Crystal Cards for upcoming fall sales.

The start of fall is a good time to begin planning for the many upcoming holidays – Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas – and maybe even some special fall birthdays or anniversaries. And part of that planning is choosing cards for friends and relatives designed to bring a smile to their faces.

Crystal Cards can help. Cards will be on sale three different days in September – at the Renaissance on Monday, September 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and at Oakwood Clubhouse Bradford Room on Wednesday and Thursday, September 19 and 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Crystal Cards are “recycled,” since they are fashioned from parts of used cards that might otherwise be thrown away. The money raised by selling these beautiful new cards (at only $1 each) goes directly to help victims of domestic violence.

If you would like to help by donating cards – entire cards so we have the inside message as well as the front – donation bins are in each of the five Sun Lakes clubhouses. You can also bring donated cards to any sales event or work session.

If you would like to help create and assemble cards, our next work session is Wednesday, September 26, from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the Ceramics Room (A-8) at Cottonwood Country Club. Just stop by for part or all of the time.

Check our website, www.thecrystalcardproject.org, or our Facebook page for a full calendar of events as well as other information about this project which, in its first two years, raised over $10,000 to support programs at My Sister’s Place, a shelter for victims of domestic violence.
