Director Linda Caton says, “If you love to laugh, then this is a show you won’t want to miss.” It starts on a hot July 3 as we wander down to Eden Falls, Georgia. There you will watch a gaggle of middle-aged ladies who are lifelong friends in this small southern town. They assemble one-by-one at an old dilapidated church after the passing of their old pal Vonda Joyce. All of them begin to sketch out the rest of their lives with both optimism for the future and regrets about the past. To fill a pipe dream, Sugar Lee decides to buy this old church and turn it into a day spa, much to their surprise. She reminds her friends that Vonda Joyce (the demised) kept putting off happiness, like we all do. Now the fun begins! You’ll truly enjoy watching this talented cast play out all these zany, nutty and hokey characters. With the timing of the show’s joke lines and the cast’s bug-eyed reactions, The Hallelujah Girls succeeds by delivering heaps of authentic wit and humor that makes us laugh in spite of ourselves.
