The Sun Lakes Garden Club will be learning about marijuana crops grown here in Arizona at the June 20 meeting. The featured speaker this month is David Grandon from “Harvest of Arizona.”

Members and guests will see a slide presentation of the crops and learn about the horticulture of the plants and how botanical research led to their medical use.

Meetings are held at 9:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Chapel Center, 9230 Sun Lakes Blvd. (across from the Sun Lakes Country Club). The meeting lasts until approximately 11:30 a.m., and members are invited to go to lunch together if they are available. The club meetings and field trips go all year. David Grandon has invited members and guests to plan a future field trip this summer to “Harvest of Arizona” in downtown Scottsdale. And, of course, our field trips always include lunch nearby.
