Born in Tucson, Arizona in 1961, Tom Booth is the third of five children. His parents, George and Libby Booth, converted to Catholicism in the 1950’s. The Booth family moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1965 where Tom graduated from high school in 1979. The Booth home was filled with love, music, dance and an open door to all who would enter. Beethoven, The Beatles, opera music and Pink Floyd were all played loudly on the family stereo. Both of Tom’s parents sang; Tom’s dad George played the drums and all of the siblings were involved in drama, music and art to some degree. After high school Tom attended Mesa Community College for two years where he studied philosophy, music theory and jazz guitar. Three years were then spent at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona where he graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music History. Since college graduation Tom has spent 24 years working in various ministries: parish ministry (music, liturgy and youth ministry), national music ministry roles (LIFE TEEN, Franciscan University, National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) and others) and composing, recording and touring as an OCP/SpiritandSong.com artist – for whom he now works on a part-time basis. He continues to serve the body of Christ by giving parish concerts, retreats and missions and has been on several concert tours with John Michael Talbot and others. His primary and most passionate ministry is his call to marriage to Tammy and being a father to his three wonderful children, Haley, Carly and Anthony.
