Free Veterans’ Day Concert
Plan to attend a Veterans Day concert at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church to help honor the sacrifices made by so many to ensure our freedom. The concert will be held in the church sanctuary on Monday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m. Please come and enjoy the beautiful music sung by several area high schools and the church choir. Bring your neighbors and friends. You won’t be disappointed!

Join us for the 9th annual Food Drive and Luminaria Walk

It’s that time again to mark your calendar for the ninth annual Luminaria Walk at Diamond Lake. It will be held on Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14 from 6:00–8:00 p.m., weather permitting. Come join us to enjoy the 1000 lighted luminarias, decorated houses and fountains all reflecting off of the water. It’s a beautiful sight enhanced by the melodic sounds of the Chordaires performing on Saturday night. Please bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Chandler Christian Community Center who will distribute them to people in need in our community. Cash donations will be accepted also. There will be trucks at both entrances for collection.

Sun Lakes UMC to present Christmas Cantata
Mark your calendar for the best Sunday of the year at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church. The Chancel choir will sing the Christmas Cantata, Canticles in Candlelight, accompanied by a 22-piece orchestra at both the 8:15 and 10:00 a.m. services on Sunday, December 14. Composer Joseph Martin uses music, prayers, poetry and candle lighting. There is also an opportunity for the congregation to join in on some of the carols.
The choir and orchestra are directed by Cris Evans who assures that this special presentation is one you won’t want to miss. Sun Lakes UMC is located at 9248 E. Riggs Road in Sun Lakes.

Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation Festival of Lights Hanukkah Celebration
When the doors open on Sunday, December 21 at 4:00 p.m. at the Oakwood Clubhouse it will be to a joyful gathering to celebrate the holiday of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. You are invited to share a wonderful buffet dinner with us along with happy music and other entertainment for all ages. We also urge you to bring your menorahs, as we will have a lovely candle lighting ceremony.
