Rina Cupples
Of course, we’ve heard the benefits of good nutrition, supplements, and regular exercise. And probably heard the benefits of positive attitude, social connection, and spiritual practice. But perhaps you haven’t yet heard the benefits of giving yourself Reiki.
Reiki is a Japanese word for Universal Life Force energy. That Energy is in and around all living organisms. Nothing is alive if it has no “life force” in it. Reiki Energy is deeply calming and centering. It helps our brains and bodies relax. It feels genuinely comforting, supporting our bodies in returning to homeostasis.
Everyone can learn how to give Reiki, so it can be one of the things we do to help ourselves remain healthy and active. It is a simple, hands-on practice intended and designed to be used on a daily basis. It can also be utilized when we experience discomfort, either mental-emotional or physical. It works harmoniously with other medical and non-medical treatments. It is non-invasive. No substance is applied to the body. No substance is ingested. It is an energy modality, supporting balance, order, and normalcy in body-mind-spirit.
An upcoming Reiki Level 1 Training class is scheduled on May 22 and May 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both of these Sundays. The location is Apex Medical Group, at 4955 S. Alma School Road, Unit 10, in Chandler. To register for class, contact Kathy Porter at 480-322-4981 or email at [email protected].
