Weeders Garden Club news

The Weeders Garden Club was established in Sun Lakes in 1955 and is still going strong! February’s presentation will be “Landscaping a Small Garden,” by Tom Gatz. Tom is a retired wildlife biologist and avid gardener. He volunteers as a horticultural aide and docent in the educational department at the Desert Botanical Garden where he is certified as a desert landscaper.

The Weeders Garden Club meets monthly to learn from informative speakers on all aspects of gardening. We also enjoy field trips to interesting places in the Valley. Whether you are new to garden clubs or have spent your life interested in growing things, we welcome you!

Our meetings are the second Thursday of every month from September through May in The Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club, 25425 S. Sun Lakes Blvd. Social time begins at 9:30 a.m., and meetings start at 10:00 a.m. Please join us! For more information, visit our website at weedersgc.org or call 781-942-9247.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Plant Sale on Saturday, March 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Chandler Museum. Items will include herbs, vegetables, succulents, house plants, hanging planters, flowers and garden gifts. The newly-renovated Chandler Museum is located at 300 S. Chandler Village Drive, across from Harkins Theater at Chandler Mall.
