What’s happening at the Ed Robson Library?

Plan to join us for the following events!

Monday, December 4, at 1:00 p.m. – Pairing Tea and Chocolate

The rich flavor, earthiness, depth of character and subtle bite of chocolate make it an ideal complement to many types of tea. Join us to taste this spectacular combination and learn how pairing tea and chocolate enhances the flavor qualities of both. Registration required. Limited to 30.

Thursday, December 7, at 1:00 p.m. – Heavyweight: Race, Religion and a Boxing Title*

In 1967, Chandler’s professional boxer Zora Folley challenged heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali. The Chandler Museum’s Jody Crago interprets how race, religion and sport intersected, creating an impact on Chandler residents and influencing American culture.

Monday, December 11, at 1:00 p.m. – Adult Craft: Holiday Craft – Holiday Basket

Come chat, craft and get creative! This month, we are creating a cute basket by “stitching” together recycled holiday cards. All supplies will be provided, but please feel free to bring old greeting cards that you have received if you’d prefer. Registration required. Ages 18 and over. Limit 20 people.

Tuesday, December 12, at 1:00 p.m. – Mele Kalikimaka: A Hawaiian Christmas*

Henry Kim and the Sandwich Isle Ukulele Band will bring a Hawaiian Christmas to the desert, including musical performers and dancers. A truly unique performance not to be missed!

Monday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m. – Bisbee, 1917*

One hundred years ago, the bustling mining town of Bisbee, Arizona, experienced one of the more extensive violations of civil liberties in American history. The incident, involving mass deportation of 1,100 copper miners, is largely forgotten, but it shouldn’t be. Join us for this educational presentation.

Saturday, December 30, at 9:30 a.m. – Storytime Saturday! Countdown to the New Year!

Join us for fun with books, songs, action-rhymes, flannelboards, crafts and more. Activities are developmentally appropriate for ages 3-6, but all ages are welcomed. Be ready to sing, learn and discover! No registration required.

The library will be closed on Monday, December 25, for Christmas Day.

We are located at 9330 E. Riggs Road. For more information, please call 602-652-3000 or go to mcldaz.org.
