Welcome to December in Arizona. The weather has been great for outdoor activities or heading to the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood to join other artists at the Desert Artists Club. We meet each Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. all year round. With the holidays close, it could be a time to create a personal gift for that “special angel” in our lives. Maybe it will be a painting of a familiar scene that’s a part of our life’s treasured moments, or use a Christmas or holiday card as inspiration. They can be a great visual to encourage us to try and put our own style on canvas or paper. Artistic beauty abounds all around and just invites us to “give it a try.”
The Desert Artists Club is a well-established group of artists who meet to inspire and be inspired by others with similar interests. We are a casual club with no dues or regular meetings. We have artists of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Some have taught and many are continuing on their journey to learn different styles and allow their talent to expand to new levels of creativity. Wherever you are on your journey, you will be welcomed and encouraged by our fun and accepting members. Each artist brings their own supplies and works in their preferred medium, working at their own pace. We occasionally have a social gathering (potluck) and a Share Your Art time where we bring some of our art to encourage, be encouraged, have fun, and just enjoy the talent that exists in our club. Come and “give it a try.”
If you are an artist or an artist-in-the-making and live in any of the three HOAs of Sun Lakes (SLCC, CWPV, or IronOaks), you are able to join. If you wish further information, you may contact me at [email protected] or call and leave a message at 480-745-2198.
We welcome anyone who wishes to check out our group to stop by any Tuesday afternoon between 3 and 5 p.m. Members can answer most questions and are happy to have others stop in and see what we are about.
