We had two golf events in March. March 10 was a Six-Six-Six format. Three games in one! First six holes was one best net score. Middle six holes was a scramble (basically best ball). Last six holes we played a schamble (everyone drives, pick the best drive, and everyone plays their own ball from there). Two low nets count for team score. We had three flights and paid our first, second, and third place.
We had 88 golfers and celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a catered meal of corned beef with cabbage, buttered carrots and potatoes, and bread pudding.
Our second event was our 18-hole 2-ball club championship on March 24. We had 34 couples playing the Lakes/Palms. Our meal was Yankee pot roast with farmers salad, root vegetables and potatoes, and brownies for dessert. Big winners overall were Low Gross Jim and Deb Wood and Low Net Fred and Linda Smith. Congratulations to all the winners.
Two more events in April, one of which was on April 14, a 4-ball C-O-D scramble on the Palms/Sonoran. The snowbird farewell was April 28 with a 4-ball his and her best net. We will be cancelling our last event on May 12 due to low attendance in past years.
Enjoy the warm weather and play well out there. Remember to fix your ball marks, rake the bunkers, and keep up with the group in front of you. If you have any questions, contact JC or Cheri Curtin at 206-369-5291.
