Welcome to another glorious season of photography. The Sun Lakes Camera Club kicks off the 2014-2015 year with their first meeting to be held on Thursday, October 2 in the Sun Lakes Country Clubs Navajo Room from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The club is growing and we will begin the season on how to get ready for competition. We will also be offering tips on your choice of editing tools, such as Elements, Lightroom and Photoshop throughout the year. Come learn a new trick to add to your toolkit.
Once members are educated, they can gear-up for our field trip to the Out-of-Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde, Arizona. Join Janet Ballard and Karen Melching’s lead on a three-day wildlife photography escapade this coming November 7, 8 and 9. This overnight trip offers an evening workshop followed by a morning guided walk with a wildlife photography instructor. Space is limited. December’s fall trip to White Sands, New Mexico is open for sign-up. For more information and availability on either event, please contact Janet Ballard at [email protected].
Do our club activities interest you? Well, come learn all about the advantages of becoming a member during your community’s Open House. Members will be on-hand at the Sun Lakes Camera Club table to chat about upcoming trips, the value of membership and our photography education course and presentations. Open House will be held on the following dates: Sun Lakes Country Club – October 4 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.; Cottonwood – October 11 from 9:00 a.m.-noon; and Oakwood – October 25 from 9:00 a.m.-noon.
Now that you’re a member, the Arizona Camera Club Council Fall Round Up will be held on Saturday, November 8 in Sun City, Arizona. Wildlife will be the featured subject presented by Robert O’Toole. Join our group in entering that breathtaking image taken over the summer in the events featured Rotating Subject of Textures. Mac Davey will be on hand to accept your print entries, along with fee, at the October 2 club meeting or contact him at [email protected] to make other arrangements. Submission deadlines are October 6, Print and October 10, Projected Image.
