The Cotillion 2016-2017 season is upon us. This season will feature a number of new activities and include great music, dancing and dining experiences. Following up events like last year’s “Live and Let Dance” event with the James Bond theme, the club volunteers have come up with some wonderful new themes for this season. And like last season, as portrayed by James and Judie Janowski, you might need to be armed and ready for the musings to come!
The season will begin on October 8 in the Oakwood Ballroom at 5:45 p.m. with the Up Beat Fall Gala. Our music will be provided by Chuck-e-Baby and the All Stars. This will be a semi-formal dinner dance. There is a pre-dance party with live themed instrumental music provided by Chuck Morris. There will be champagne and hors d’oeuvres served by the Country Club staff. Come early and enjoy the company and atmosphere. Members and guests are welcome.
Robert Henningsen (Bobby) is our new executive chef. He has a wonderful menu planned including his hors d’oeuvre specialties to be served at the pre-dance party. Dinner highlights include a Caprese salad, Grilled Pork Chops and Mahi Mahi with some of the chef’s favorite sauces as well as other favorite dinner selections. Oh, and don’t forget his Tiramisu!
The group dance lesson for the upcoming dinner dance is scheduled for Thursday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakwood Ballroom. Fred Astaire will be providing instructors for the East Coast Swing. Members and guests are welcome.
The season schedule after the upcoming October dance includes events on November 5; January 14, 2017; February 4, 2017; March 11, 2017 and April 8, 2017. Group dance lessons have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m.-noon in the Oakwood Ballroom on the Thursday or Friday before each dance. Check the website event calendar for details.
The revised version of our website is now available for use. The website has been simplified. Please let us know what you think of it. Continued use of website features by the membership and prospects greatly reduces the effort required by the club to provide a consistent high quality and efficient experience. The new online RSVP and Paypal features have really improved the efficiency of the volunteers’ efforts.
