2017 IWLN Summer Hottie! During our summer play from mid-May through September, the Ironwood Lady Niners take a break from more serious golf and prizes. We kick back and enjoy casual play where you can sign up your own pairings and choose your own game or play to develop your game. Of course, this is during our sultry summer when we play at 6:30 a.m. During this time, we have been naming the member who plays the most days our “IWLN Summer Hottie.” We are happy to announce that Linda Liberti is our 2017 winner, having played 16 of our 18 hot play dates. It is very apparent that Linda loves playing golf and continues to be very valuable in giving unselfishly of her time to help manage the IWLN league. As recipient of this 2017 special and unique award, Linda becomes a three-time winner and redefines the lyrics of the 1987 Buster Poindexter song entitled “Hot, Hot, Hot!” This award is a testament to Linda’s love of the game and her dedication to IWLN league play and emphasizes her amazing physical fitness for playing in our sizzling summer heat.
Runner-ups to this award are (play days in parentheses) Ann Gavin (14), Rachel Enloe (13), Susan Schaeffer (12), Ione Jacobson and Jean Sandusky (11) and Julia Collier (10). Honorable mention players are Deb Burns, Denise Fleshner, Judy Frink, Deborah Greenwood, Suzanne Henderson, Margaret Johns, Sandy Krediet, Connie Luther, Dottie Meade, Susan Meer, Eileen Moberg, Dianne Severa and Joan Sloan. These ladies are awesome. Congratulations, all!
Mark Your Calendars: Our next general meeting and brunch is at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13. Please plan to attend. The “Changing of the Guard” will take place, as we install our officers for 2018 and present awards.
It is time to renew our membership for 2018. Annual dues for the Ironwood Lady Niners, payable by December 1, 2017, are $70.00. Checks should be made out to “Ironwood Lady Niners.” Your check and membership application form should be placed in the Lady Niners drop box which is located in the Ironwood Clubhouse Computer Room. We also offer a “Social Membership” for $10.00. This membership is available to former and current members who can no longer play golf on our regular game schedule. There are dates identified on our calendar that will accommodate their play. Most importantly, they are welcome to attend all of our general meetings, brunches and special events. Additionally, we offer a “GHIN# Only for Women.” The cost this year is $40.00 (which includes the AWGA fee plus a $10.00 processing fee). We hope that all IWLN members rejoin, and we look forward to a great year of golf in 2018. If you would like information about our fabulous league, please contact Membership Chair Janis Gustafson at 701-388-5833. Our play day is Wednesday with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun.
New Members: We are happy to extend a very warm welcome to new members Chris Berney and Rhonda Stanford. Thank you for selecting the Ironwood Lady Niners.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and safe travel to all! Just think, the new year brings a bounty of new golfing experiences. v
