In a shining example of community spirit, the Sun Lakes Pickleball Club Cottonwood (SLPCC) has donated an impressive $3,500 to Neighbors Who Care, a charitable organization dedicated to helping those facing challenging circumstances. This generous donation was made possible through the combined efforts of club members and sponsors who participated in a raffle and silent auction during the March 2024 NIT Pickleball Tournament.
The fundraiser featured a variety of exciting items up for grabs, with spirited bidding from tournament attendees. From themed gift baskets to unique experiences, participants eagerly contributed to the cause while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the event.
Fundraising Chairman Sue Ori expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved, saying, “We couldn’t have achieved this without the dedication of our members and the incredible support of our sponsors. It’s inspiring to see how our community comes together for such a meaningful purpose.”
The donation reflects SLPCC’s commitment to giving back and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Members not only showed their competitive spirit on the court but also their compassion and generosity off it.
Neighbors Who Care will use the funds to support vital programs, ensuring that families and individuals receive the assistance they require during difficult times.
The success of this fundraiser highlights the unique power of sports and community to bring people together for a greater good. As the Pickleball Club continues to grow, so does its ability to make a difference in the lives of others—a win-win for everyone involved.
