On November 20 members of the Weeders Garden Club met at the Archstone Care Center in Chandler to work on one of the yearly club’s community support projects. Two times a year, right before Thanksgiving and again before Easter, Weeders members meet with residents of the Archstone Care Center to work on flower arrangements for the residents’ rooms. This was a morning with lots of smiles for all those involved i.e. residents, staff and the Weeders members. All materials for the flower arrangement projects are donated by local businesses. Weeders Garden Club loves supporting this project and interacting with some pretty wonderful people at the same time!
The Weeders Garden Club meets the second Thursday of each month, September through May, in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club in Sun Lakes. Treats and coffee are served beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the business meeting is from 10:00 a.m.-noon. There is an interesting speaker and a horticulture presentation each meeting as well as a club money-making raffle, too!
Membership is open to everyone. Although field trips are reserved for members, anyone interested in attending a meeting is welcome.
