The Sisk Park Bocce Ball Club is looking forward to another great year of camaraderie and competition at the courts located at Sisk Park at Palo Verde.
New and current players can sign up at the club’s table at the Cottonwood Open House from 9:00 a.m.-noon Saturday, October 8. Players can also register at the club’s annual wine and cheese kick-Off party starting at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23 at Sisk Park.
You can sign up by sending a $10 per person entry fee to Dianne Severa, 9226 E. Nacoma Dr., Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Checks should be made out to the Sisk Park Bocce Ball Club.
Club president Roy Parfitt is excited about this year’s board members with both experience and new ideas. The club welcomes players of all levels of ability with having fun, engaging with old friends and making new ones the prime objective.
Don’t know how to play Bocce? No problem; 10 minutes of instruction and you’ll be on your way to a lifetime of fun. This is a game that can be enjoyed well into your senior years with little to no physical limitations.
For those unfamiliar with our club, two-player teams are divided into 10 divisions based on their scores in previous sessions so players are competing against others of comparative skill level.
Each team is provided a list of names and telephone numbers of others in their division for round-robin play. Players arrange their games at their convenience.
Fall competition begins in November and runs through January 2017, followed by a wine and cheese awards party later in January at the Sisk Park pavilion.
Awards will be presented to players on teams that finish first through third in each division.
