Our new season of pickleball is upon us! Our SLPCIO club has a lot of exciting social events planned for this coming season. We will compete in the East Valley Interclub League and other tournaments. In addition, we will compete in an exciting new challenge called the Robson Pickleball League. This league includes all levels of play. We will travel once a month to other Robson communities. Other teams in this league are from Pebblecreek, SaddleBrooke, SaddleBrooke Ranch and Robson Ranch. We will enter as a combined community; IronOaks, Sun Lakes Country Club and Cottonwood/Palo Verde. Sun Lakes, in the future, will be able to host our own home matches when we get more courts. More information will be available soon.
If you are interested in learning to play pickleball or want to join our club, just sign up at the tennis front desk. If space permits we will be giving free instruction to those who would like to try or play pickleball. We already have had at least 25 and counting interested in these lessons. October 13 was our first lesson.
Pickleball has become even more popular than anyone could have imagined. Very addicting, great exercise, a game you can easily play with your grandchildren. We have all the equipment for you to try this fun sport. So come on out and try it! We will kick off our fall season with a Halloween bash.
See you on the courts!
