“We are thrilled to announce the hiring of Chandler resident Adam Thome to be our new director,” cheerfully advises Patti Entwistle, president of the Chordaires Show Chorus of Sun Lakes.

“We had the great fortune to be able to choose among several excellent applicants, but our search committee unanimously agreed he would be a perfect fit,” she continues.

In addition to working with the Chordaires, Adam is the Choral Director at Notre Dame Prep High School in Scottsdale. Prior to that, he was the beloved Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Steven’s Catholic Church in Sun Lakes for over six years.

“We are really looking forward to working with him,” says Chordaires Performance Director Chris Roen enthusiastically. “We were so impressed with his knowledge and personality in his interview.”

The Chordaires Show Chorus is an upbeat all-woman a capella singing group comprised of about 40 singers, most of whom are Sun Lakes residents. You can hear their dulcet tones in any number of local venues at Christmas time, and in the spring at their annual big show at the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood Country Club. Their repertoire consists of well-loved songs familiar to most listeners from the radio, movies and Broadway. What’s unusual is they sing in four-part harmony, also known as barbershop, a uniquely American form of song.

The Chordaires are a fun-loving group, from 53 to 90 years of age, who immensely enjoy singing and each other’s company. They graciously received several standing ovations last season. Have a yen to join up? “New members are always welcome,” invites Membership Director Pam Klima, “If you love to sing and can carry a tune, give me a call at 480-262-1070 and I’ll get you started.”

Also, if you’re looking for a fun alternative entertainment at your club or private party, contact Chris Roen at 480-786-6969 to book the Chordaires or their “mini-me” version The Ambassadors.
