You need not be a full-time Sun Lakes resident to participate.
The Sun Lakes-Gila Crossing Community School Volunteer Program has been in existence for 16 years. The current Coordinator is looking to turn over the reins so that the program will continue to exist and grow. As Coordinator, you will be providing meaningful volunteer work to Sun Lakes residents, and GCCS students will benefit from having a volunteer assist them in basic school subjects; a win-win situation!
This position requires organizational skills, a computer for emails and being a “people person.” Duties include placing a monthly “blurb” in the Splash and taking prospective volunteers out to school for a tour, so transportation is a MUST, although the majority of work is done from home! You’ll meet with school administrators to determine what volunteer opportunities need to be filled. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required. Approximately 5 to 10 hours a month, October through March; you set your own schedule! You need not be a full-time Sun Lakes resident to participate. We will work together until you are comfortable working solo. If you have questions, please call Jane Lindsay at 480-802-9965 for more information.
