President’s message
David Erwin, President, IronOaks HOA
Today we will officially welcome three new members to the Board of Directors for IronOaks: David Lott, Stan Mogck and Stewart Schulz. We will also be seeing the departure of three members who have served IronOaks well and spent many countless hours during their respective terms. More on this later.
Scott Daley, our Accounting and Financial consultant, has made significant observations and suggestions. This will be covered in the proposed contract that is on the agenda.
The accomplishments of this current Board are many, and the upcoming Board for 2017 will be facing a number of challenges. In this case, I am not referring to the various projects and proposals that are to be presented for action this year. I am referring to addressing and the initiation of finding a resolution to end this non-productive “we” versus “they” that exists in IronOaks.
We should all stop and think back on just why we moved here. I know that almost 11 years ago, Mary and I came to Arizona to look for a place to retire. We visited many communities and were really impressed just how beautiful this community was and all the amenities offered. But what sold us was the people. It was July and typically warm, and we were looking at our lot. The neighbor across the street greeted us, welcomed us and had two ice-cold bottles of water. We had our lunch at poolside and were greeted with the same warmth. All I can ask is that, somehow, we again learn how to reach out a friendly hand with a smile.
Having said that, there are a number of items on the agenda that are important to us all. While the current Ad Hoc Pickleball Committee will be dissolved today, we will need to address this issue in the coming months. However, I hope that, at that time, all the factors and issues that have caused the drawing of lines in the sand will be addressed.
The final renovation of our golf courses, the Sonoran, will be voted on. I am sure you will agree that the Lakes, Palms and Ironwood have never looked or played better!
Thank you. v
